Event Details

The Heart of the Valley Century Ride is an event which offers an opportunity for cyclists of all ages and skill to experience a scenic cycling ride, local food, promotional materials such as jerseys and t-shirts, cycling vendors, and entertainment. The experiences that visitors will have are ones that will allow them to enjoy the scenery of the Annapolis Valley, as well as local music and food. The Heart of the Valley Century Ride takes place annually in August. Registration takes place on-line and we also offer day-of registration. If participants register on-line before June 1st, they will receive a cycling jersey designed specifically for this event; participants who register afterwards will receive a promotional t-shirt. Each participant can choose from 4 routes, all of which depart from the Rotary Park in Middleton at 9 am. The distances offered include 25 km (Middleton), 50 km (Middleton to Bridgetown), 100 km (to Annapolis Royal), and 160 km (to Annapolis Royal and Raven Haven Park). Each route is clearly marked with direction signs as well as signs that are sponsored by local businesses that include slogans of encouragement to the riders. There are rest and food stops along each cycling route in Bridgetown, Annapolis Royal, and Raven Haven Park (roughly every 25-30 km). When cyclists return to the Rotary Park in Middleton, the event ends with a post-ride Chicken BBQ dinner and local entertainment, which runs from 1:00 – 5:00 pm for all participants. We look forward to seeing you there!
